DJI Dock 3 + Matrice 4D
Vehicle-mountable drone-in-a-box for autonomous 24/7 inspection and response
The DJI Dock 3 is an autonomous drone station from DJI, paired with the Matrice 4D or 4TD aircraft, that enables unattended 24/7 aerial operations. It is DJI's first dock adaptable for vehicle mounting, letting an enclosed, weather-sealed station house, charge and dispatch a drone either from a fixed site or from a moving platform. The system is built for routine inspection, surveillance and mapping missions managed remotely through the FlightHub 2 cloud platform.
First DJI dock adaptable for vehicle mounting
10 km max operating radius from the dock
54 min flight / 47 min hover endurance
Omnidirectional binocular vision + RTK + multi-GNSS positioning
IP56 dock, -30°C to 50°C operating range; thermal camera option (4TD)
What it does
The dock stores, shelters and charges the aircraft, then launches it on scheduled or on-demand missions and recovers it automatically, with the aircraft reaching takeoff readiness in roughly 10 seconds and recharging from 15% to 95% in about 27 minutes. The Matrice 4D/4TD flies up to 54 minutes (47 minutes hovering), cruises at up to 21 m/s in Sport mode, and operates within a 10 km radius of the dock. It navigates using an omnidirectional binocular vision system with a downward 3D infrared sensor, plus RTK and multi-constellation GNSS for centimeter-level positioning, and carries a wide, medium-tele and tele camera array, with the 4TD adding a radiometric thermal camera and NIR auxiliary light.
Where it's used
DJI positions the Dock 3 for public safety and emergency response, search and rescue, and infrastructure inspection including powerline and substation work, as well as environmental monitoring. Its IP56-rated enclosure and -30°C to 50°C operating range (with pre-heating at the low end) suit outdoor, year-round deployment in harsh conditions. The vehicle-mounting capability lets operators relocate a station to a job site or incident, and up to two docks can run on one vehicle for dual-drone rotation. FlightHub 2 adds automated routes, change detection, asset tracking and thermal anomaly detection for these workflows.
Why operators choose it
Continuous 24/7 coverage without crew dispatched to site
Relocatable: mount on a vehicle to reposition the station to any job or incident
Year-round outdoor operation in an IP56 enclosure from -30°C to 50°C
Up to 10 km mission radius and 54-minute flight time per sortie
Centralized fleet control, automation and analytics via FlightHub 2 cloud
